A birth announcement, at an address that keeps working
A birth announcement page is one link carrying the news, the photographs and somewhere for people to write back — sent once, and still there months later when a group chat has long scrolled past it. Guests read it and leave a message without making an account, and the messages stay at that address rather than in a thread nobody can find again.

Told once, properly
A page rather than a message. The name, the date, the weight if you want it, and the photographs at a size worth looking at.
You send one link. Nobody is left out because a group chat had an old number in it, and nobody receives the news as the fortieth message in a thread.
What people write back is kept
Family and friends can leave a message on the page, and those messages stay at the address rather than scrolling away. That is the one thing a chat thread cannot do.
Nothing a stranger writes appears without you seeing it first. Every message waits for you to approve it, so a public page cannot fill up with rubbish while you are asleep.
Photographs that do not give away your address
A photograph taken on a phone records where it was taken, often to within a few metres. Anybody who saves a picture off a public page gets that with it.
So every photograph is re-encoded in your browser before it is uploaded. That keeps the picture and drops everything else the camera wrote into it. It also makes the file a great deal smaller, which is why the page opens quickly on a phone.
It was the reveal, and it becomes the birthday
If you made a gender reveal or a shower page here, this is the same address — the design, the photographs and the guest list are already on it.
And in a year it becomes the first birthday invitation, with every message people left still there.
Questions
Do people need an account to leave a message?
No. They write their name and their message, and nothing else is asked of them.
Can I approve messages before they appear?
Yes, and that is the default. Nothing shows on your page until you have read it.
Is the page public?
It is at its own address and anybody with the link can open it, but it is kept out of search engines. The link is the way in.
Do photographs keep their location data?
No. Every photograph is re-encoded before it is uploaded, which keeps the image and removes the location and everything else the camera recorded.
The rest of the journey
The same address carries a family from the first guess to the first birthday. Whichever of these you are planning now, the others are the same page later.
