A Punchbowl alternative, and when a membership makes more sense

Punchbowl sells a membership: a free trial, then a monthly plan sized by how many guests each event has. That is a good deal if you are planning several parties this year. If you are planning one baby's reveal, announcement and first birthday, the difference is that here it is one payment and one address.

Prices, side by side

Punchbowl’s prices read from Punchbowl's own upgrade page and help centre in September 2026. If they have changed since, theirs is the page to believe.

Where Punchbowl is genuinely better

  • For one short event it can cost less. A single month of Punchbowl, cancelled afterwards, comes to less than a published page here. If you only need an invitation for one party, that is the cheaper route.
  • One membership covers every event you plan. Their guest limits are per event, so a family with a shower, a birthday and a dinner in the same few months pays once a month for all of them.
  • It is not limited to babies. Birthday parties and other occasions have invitations there too; this site does four things, all of them about a baby.
  • A free trial and a money-back guarantee. Seven days to try it, and thirty days to change your mind.

Where this one fits instead

  • Nothing to remember to cancel. A membership keeps charging until somebody stops it. Here it is one payment.
  • No adverts on any plan. Punchbowl removes them from Platinum upwards; below that, the invitation carries them.
  • One address for the whole journey. The page that collects replies for the reveal becomes the birth announcement and then the first birthday invitation, keeping the photographs, the messages and the guest list.
  • The guessing is built in. Guests pick pink or blue as they reply, a tally builds, and the answer is withheld on the server until you unlock it.

Questions

Is Punchbowl free?

Punchbowl's own help centre describes sending invitations free during a seven-day trial, after which the membership begins. Paid plans start from a few dollars a month.

Which is cheaper?

For a single party, a month of Punchbowl cancelled afterwards is cheaper. Across a reveal, an announcement and a first birthday — more than a year — it depends on the tier you would need: their cheapest plan kept running that long can still come in under $99, and their ad-free one does not. Here it is one payment of $99 and nothing to cancel.

Do Punchbowl invitations have adverts?

Their upgrade page lists removing advertising as a feature of Platinum and above, so the lower tiers carry adverts. Nothing here shows guests adverts.

Do my guests need an account on either?

Not here — guests open the link and reply. Check Punchbowl's own guidance for how their replies work before you choose.

What you would be making

A gender reveal website, a baby shower page, a birth announcement or a first birthday invitation — in one of fourteen designs, at one address that carries all four.
